Center StrategiesApplying ICT Across Many Development SectorsThe Academy for Educational Development has played a central role in the growth of ICT for development. From the early period when radio and television were important new technologies, through the modern era of intelligent machines and worldwide connectivity, AED has been in the forefront of helping developing countries participate in the benefits of ICT.Our leadership roles in the USAID worldwide flagship ICT initiatives, LearnLink and the DOT-COM Alliance, have added to our history of effective problem solving with ICT, and AED now has a wealth of experience in providing innovative, high impact solutions. The AED Center for Applied Technology aggregates much of that experience and can draw on AED’s wider experience in sectoral programs and large scale program management to assemble the components needed for successful projects. As the examples on the following pages demonstrate, our work encompasses a very broad range of applications in countries of every region of the world. |
